Page Necklace- Viking Knit

This necklace is meticulously handwoven in sterling silver using the Viking Knit* technique, an acient wire weaving method known for its strength and elegant texture. The piece features a reversible etched lampwork glass focal bead, offering a soft matte finish and two distinct viewing options. All components, including the finding, are crafted from sterling silver. The necklace measures 20 inches from the lobster claw clasp to the bottom of the focal bead.

*Viking Knit weave is a wire weaving techinque that produces a dense tube-like chain, also known as Trichinopoly. It involves weaving wire around a cylindrical tool, such as a dowel, and then pulling the finished tube through a drawplate to shrink and tighten the weave. This process was historically used for jewelry and decorative chain during the Viking age.
