Duyssen Necklace Multi Media (Glass, Wood, Shell, Fiber, Stone)

This necklace has a layered, tactile feel—like a collection of found objects brought together into something expressive and coastal.

Irregular glass chips in shades of blue and deep cobalt form much of the strand, their uneven edges catching light in sharp, glimmering flashes. Between them, smooth hematite beads add a metallic contrast—cool, dark, and slightly reflective—grounding the brighter tones with a subtle weight.

Scattered along the necklace are small scallop shells, their soft ridges and pale, natural hues bringing an unmistakable seaside character. They break up the shine of the glass with something more organic, almost sun-bleached in appearance.

Mixed in are fiber beads, slightly textured and matte, lending a handcrafted, earthy quality. Wood beads echo that warmth, their natural grain and muted browns providing a gentle counterpoint to the blues and metallics.
